Will Read and Sing For Food will perform a public show Friday, July 10, 7 p.m. (Eastern) at the Ferdinand American Legion to benefit the Paul Michael Ash Endowment for Music and Arts.

Ash, a singer-songwriter from Ferdinand, Vietnam War veteran, former co-owner of the Ferdinand News, and member of Will Read and Sing For Food, died two years ago.

The show, a mix of live music and humor essays, will feature special musical guests Channing and Quinn, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, along with Bethany Boeglin, Michael Cummings, Jessi and Jeremy Fulcher, Megan Gatwood, Kris Lasher, Kyle Lueken, Angie Mayfield, Scott Saalman, Debbie Schuetter and Kathy Tretter.

Channing and Quinn, the quirky husband-wife folk duo are currently touring to promote their CD, “Temporary Things.” “The Stalker Song,” a track from the album, won first place in the ArtPrize 2014 music competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan. ArtPrize is an international art competition open to any artist and decided by public vote and expert jury. Their music has also appeared in films.
